PIR Motion Sensors. Record and playback your own speech, music or sound effects using the built-in microphone and speaker. Our PIR Motion Sensors also have a unique MP3 file download feature. Simply transfer your MP3 sound files directly onto the internal memory via the USB socket. Your voice recordings or MP3 file(s) will playback automatically after the PIR sensor has been activated. Easy to use, step-by-step instructions included.
APPLICATIONS:
Create an audible warning for a restricted area.
Audible reminders or procedures to assist people with Dementia.
Audible security alarms.
Create a special door entrance greeting.
Raise attention and create impact by adding a speech, music or sound effects to a point of sale display.
FEATURES:
Record your own speech, music or sound effects using the built-in microphone
Option to download your own MP3 sound files
Update and change your messages as many times as you wish
Automatic audio playback after the PIR sensor has been activated
High quality MP3 sound output
Unit will store multiple MP3 files to enable a looped playback
Three volume settings: Low, Medium and High
Wall mounting holes
Includes an optional wall mounting bracket
Two power supply options: 3 x AAA Batteries or Mains Power Adapter, (bought separately)
SPECIFICATION:
Built-in microphone and speaker
Two playback settings: Single Track or Multiple Tracks
In Multiple Track Mode one track will play after each activation, (in file name order)
Multiple Track Mode will NOT playback randomly
Micro USB Socket to support a 5 Volt DC Power Adapter
File transfer using the built-in Micro USB socket and cable supplied
Audio playback format: MP3 format only
Sensor activation distance: Up to 4 metres with a 120 Deg Angle
Volume Level: 90 dB maximum, (depending on original recording)
Size: 96 x 60 x 25mm
Internal Memory: 4MB
Recording time: Approx 4 minutes, (calculated at 128Kbps MONO bitrate)
Note: Recording time can be doubled to 8 minutes by changing the MP3 file sample bitrate to 64kbps. (See notes below)
Battery Life: This will depend on the mAh rating of the batteries that you install. As an example, based on batteries with a capacity between 500-1000 mAh, a 5 second message will playback between 3,600 and 7,200 times. We always recommend that you use high quality branded alkaline batteries.

What is PIR?
PIR stands for Passive Infrared. A PIR Sensor is an electronic sensor that measures infrared light radiating from objects in its field of view. All objects with a temperature above zero emit heat energy in the form of radiation. Usually this radiation is invisible to the human eye because it radiates at infrared wavelengths, but it can be detected by PIR Sensors. PIR sensors don't detect or measure heat, but instead they detect the Infrared radiation emitted from an object. A PIR-based motion detector is used to sense movement of people, animals, or other objects. They are more commonly used in burglar alarms and automatically-activated lighting systems.
What is the difference between normal Motion Sensors and PIR Sensors?
PIR Sensors do not detect motion, instead they detect abrupt changes in temperature at a given point using the Infrared radiation level. As an object, such as a human, passes in front of the background, such as a wall, the temperature at that point will rise from room temperature to body temperature, and then back again. This quick change triggers the detection.
Playback calculations based on the 4MB of memory
A playback time of 8 minutes can be achieved with an MP3 file that has a Bitrate value of 64Kbps.
A playback time of 4 minutes can be achieved with an MP3 file that has a Bitrate value of 128Kbps.
A playback time of 2 minutes can be achieved with an MP3 file that has a Bitrate value of 256Kbps.
